Trump prematurely and falsely claims to have won the 2020 presidential election

Timing is everything in life. Woke up at 07:30 local Madeira time and turned on the TV. It was still set on CNN. Donald Trump was just prematurely and falsely claiming that he had won the 2020 presidential election.

The race to win 270 electoral votes to win the presidency is still far from over. Vote counting is still going on. President Trump made baseless claims: “Frankly we did win this election”. Millions of votes still have to be counted.

Without any proof, President Trump said: “This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country.” Why? On what basis?

President Trump said that he would go to the US Supreme Court because he wanted “all voting to stop.” Why stop the voting? Because he is ahead in some states. But vote counting in those states is far from over.

Donald Trump’s attitude is worse than I thought. Vice President Pence was more prudent, more flexible.

In short: All votes have to be counted. It is not over yet. However, the hope of a landslide in favor of Biden has evaporated. Project restore sanity in the White House is in danger. President Trump could actually be re-elected.
